BE WELL HYDRATED With the expected warm summer approaching remember to drink plenty of fluids. It is important to ensure you have sufficient fluids prior to a match to reduce the risk of cramping. Replace your fluids after your game and be mindful of the body salts lost during a lengthy match.
Summer offers the best time for variety in fruit and vegetables. Lots of healthy salads with protein and carbohydrates will be important to sustain you during the summer tennis season. If you are taking part in holiday camps or tournaments be sure to think ahead and have healthy snacks with you including fruit. HINT – Bananas and tomatoes are great sources of potassium. Very important to replace your body salts including potassium when you have been out playing tennis during the summer period.
